Underarm Crutch Measuring
Custom Wood Underarm Crutches:
Please be sure to state your height, weight and activity level when ordering these crutches so we can
select the most appropriate wood dimensions for your needs. It is best if you make a tracing of your
existing crutch and fill in the measurements too. Be sure to trace the circumference and width of your
Kenny leather armband and give any details as to their design as there is no standard design for this
cuff. Better yet send us a single spare crutch for us to copy.
Custom Aluminum Underarm Crutches:
It is always best for us when you make a tracing of your existing crutch and take measurements as per
the below pictures. We keep these drawings on file for future reference. Please note that adjustable
Shepherds crutches were once manufactured
by Lumex, Inc. and this is what you have now. They mounted their hard plastic hand grip so that your
thumb and index finger are closest to the pole. We find there is an advantage to facing the hand and
underarm piece in the opposite direction. However if you were used to the Lumex method I'd advise you
to have us mount my grips the same way. In any case please be sure to indicate the direction you prefer
on your tracing. The foam padded sleeves I buy at my local bicycle store. You can do the same and save
some money or buy them from us for $20.00 pair plus $7.00 shipping & handling.
